A bit late...

OK, OK, so I'm a bit late jumping on this train, but I have a ticket!

So back in August the world watched one of the most shocking performances on the MTV VMAs to date.

Have a look here to see Glamour's 14 Most Unforgettable VMA Moments

The performance I'll be rambling about is, of course, Miley Cyrus & Robin Thicke's, somewhat, disturbing act.

If you haven't seen it, where have you been?  I'm serious, I'm genuinely shocked if you haven't seen it.

Just in case you haven't, or you just want to watch it again, here we go:

When I first saw this, my jaw dropped, I couldn't quite figure out what I was watching.  I've never been high but I sort of felt watching this was the closest I'll ever be.  She made herself a laughing stock, and a talking point.

So she succeeded, for her, that's just another job she's got to do, get it done, meet people afterwards, maybe a few drinks and then she can head home.  This performance is meaningless to her now.  But we're still talking about it!  What more could she want than to be spoken about, for people to be intrigued by her music, videos and live performances so much so they'll look into it themselves, maybe buy her album.  Well done her.  She's not stupid, she knows fine well what she's doing.

Before this could even properly settle down, she released her music video for 'Wrecking Ball'.  Now, it's a fantastic song, if you truly listen to it, and hear the emotion in her voice, I believe it is one of her best.  But people didn't focus on the song as much as the video.  Which, in all honesty, I like.  I think it's a great video!! It's simple and stripped (no pun intended there, honestly) but I think people have taken it way out of proportion.  It's just a video, and ok, she licks a sledgehammer, and is naked for more than half of the video riding an actual wrecking ball.  At least it makes sense to the song.  Most videos nowadays mean absolutely nothing to the song.

I admire Miley for what she's doing, she's extremely clever and I can't wait to see what she does next!

And in all fairness, she did tell us 3 years ago that she Can't Be Tamed...
